The Faculty of Science & Environment, School of Biological Sciences wish to appoint a Senior Technician to provide a comprehensive histology and microscopy service for both plant and animal tissues.

We will require competency in wax and frozen section techniques and familiarity with more modern techniques eg immunocytochemistry.

Experience with basic light microscopy techniques, eg phase & fluorescence microscopy is essential and ideally confocal microscopy. Proficiency with image capture and processing is required and use of image analysis would be an advantage.

You will be capable of contributing to publications and will be able to evidence the development, adaptation and introduction of new techniques. They will be pro-active, enthusiastic and capable of demonstrating techniques to both staff and students.
