Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to join the Laboratory of Dr Nathalie Juge within the Gut Health and Food Safety Programme at the Institute of Food Research (Norwich, UK).
An exciting opportunity for a Research Scientist is available to contribute to the development of a research programme focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms by which gut bacteria interact with the mucus layer to maintain health. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Juge team and benefit from a unique research environment and access to core facilities and expertise across the Norwich Research Park and opportunities for personal and career development.
A PhD in Biological Sciences, previous research experience in the area of gut (micro)biology research are essential as is being competent in a variety of molecular microbiology, biochemistry and cell biology techniques. Experience of host-microbiota interactions and knowledge in glycobiology would be advantageous.
Salary on appointment will be within the range £29,500 to £36,060 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This post is for an indefinite contract.
