Visiting Research Specialist position available at the Pediatric Dentistry Department, College of Dentistry, University of Illinois at Chicago.
Degree in microbiology, biochemistry or biomedical related field. Research focuses on the mechanisms of natural antimicrobial agents in the prevention and control of oral pathogens and their biofilms associated with dental caries and periodontal disease. Candidate should be skillful in basic microbiology and molecular biology techniques related to study of oral pathogens and fungi. Other experiences preferred are: working with oral microbial biofilms, natural antimicrobial agents, and virulence gene expressions; light, scanning, and confocal microscopy techniques. Knowledge in dentistry and oral diseases strongly encouraged. Skills in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook), and strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language are essential.
