Umeå University offers Postdoctoral Position in the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science, Sweden
To be eligible for this position, you should have a PhD-degree in ecology, physical geography or equivalent, not more than 3 years old.
Good knowledge of arctic ecosystems, plant-soil interactions and demonstrated experience with isotope techniques as well as with fieldwork and plant growth studies are considered strong merits for this position.
The successful candidate should further have documented good abilities to communicate scientifically in English, both orally and written, creativity, power of initiative, independence and good social skills.
Scholarship Description: The Department of Ecology and Environmental Science at Umeå University has about 160 members, including 50 PhD-students and 13 Professors.
The Climate Impacts Research Centre (CIRC) is part of the Department and undertakes research in how climate and environmental changes affect the environment of the north.
Most of the staff of CIRC is stationed year-round in Abisko, Kiruna municipality . At this centre, a postdoc-position (2 years) is now available to study climate and plant controls on carbon losses from permafrost soils.
