UCD Post Doctoral Research Fellow Level 2, (Marie Curie Fellowship) Centre for BioNano Interactions, UCD School of Chemistry and Chemical Biology (Temporary) : Dublin, Ireland
Nanoscience has the potential to revolutionise and benefit many aspects of human society, especially in the fields of information technology and medicine. As one of the world’s leading centres of knowledge for bionanointeractions, applied to the fields of nanosafety, nanobiology and nanomedicine, the Centre for BioNano Interactions is pioneering many of the new techniques and approaches in this area.
CBNI is looking for an experienced Postdoctoral Researcher with at least 3 years previous research experience in cell biology and/or biophysical measurement techniques with emphasis on the flexibility to innovate and cross boundaries. While CBNI will provide suitable training and support, experience in the handling and study of nanoparticles and their dispersions, and /or protein science, would also be advantageous, but not essential and training in this arena can be provided.
As part of the program the researcher will apply complimentary biological characterization methods to a range of novel nanomaterial types (receptor targeted, shape controlled etc.) of exciting scientific potential, developed together with CBNI group members. Integrating QCM will validate, support and advance the Attana platform for investigation of nanoparticle – cell interactions.
