Research Physicist at University of Oxford – Gray Institute For Radiation Oncology And Biology
Grade 7: Salary £28,983 – £35,646 p.a.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Physicist to provide expert specialist support to clinical research effort, by working jointly between the Gray Institute and the Oxford Regional Hospital Trust. Adopting an analytical and positive approach, the postholder will provide specialist Radiotherapy Research Physicist support, to provide a clinical, scientific and technical service in the use of radiotherapy practice.
Working as a member of the clinical research team the postholder will support the implementation of evidence-based practice, for example on the development and introduction of new techniques into clinical practice including Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and all aspects of image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).
The appointed candidate will have a relevant MSc or higher degree, IPEM Diploma or equivalent in Medical Physics or Medical Engineering, be registered as a Clinical Scientist, have substantial experience in Radiotherapy Physics and experience and specialist training in the use and calibration of Radiotherapy treatment equipment and detailed knowledge of clinical procedures and practices for patient stimulation, planning and treatment in Radiotherapy.
This is a full-time post and is offered for two years in the first instance.
