Blood Systems Research Institute (BSRI) (, a University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) affiliate, is seeking a motivated Research Associate to conduct surgical research in rodent models of traumatic brain injury, hemorrhagic shock, and acute lung injury. Novel therapeutics using stem cells will be investigated. Prior research experience with animal surgery is required, preferably in these models. Knowledge of animal breeding and molecular techniques such as histopathological analysis, immunofluorescence, tissue sectioning and processing, RNA/DNA and protein work are desirable. Prior experience with mouse femoral vein and artery cannulation is desirable.
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or M.D. and have a strong background in animal surgery and models of disease.
