The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £31,905 - £38,594 per annum depending on skills and experience, inclusive of London Allowance.
The Gastroenterology team are based at the UCL Institute of Child Health (ICH). The team aims to become the UK's leading clinical academic centre for paediatric gastroenterology, to capitalise on the unique patient population of GOSH to provide the stimulus for pioneering investigations and to drive innovation that will be translated into clinical practice within 5 years.
As a core member of the charity funded clinical research team, you will play an important role in establishing and implementing the initial 'Theme 3' project (please see the job description for more information). This project aims to optimise and adapt current protocols for the isolation and use of human enteric stem cells for direct clinical application.
This post is initially funded for 36 months
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area. The postholder must have knowledge in the field of stem cell biology including a working understanding of techniques applied to the isolation, characterisation and transplantation stem cell to biological systems. The postholder must also have knowledge of experimental techniques in cell culture, cell and molecular biology and cell signalling and routine histopathology. The successful candidate must have experience of working in a research environment.
