Job Description

The University of California, Davis, is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to study how the p53 family proteins function as a tumor suppressor and how p53 activity is regulated by multiple mechanisms. In particular, we are interested in examining how the p53 pathway is regulated by mRNA stability, translational regulation and post-translational modifications. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop expertise in mouse models of cancer and investigate how the p53 pathway can be altered to control cancer initiation and progression. For more detail, please see some of our recent publications (J. Biol. Chem. 287:34410-8; Proc Natl Acad Sci. 109:11300-5; Mol. Cell. Biol. 32: 2336-48; Mol. Cell. Biol. 31:3997-4006; Genes & Dev. 25:1528-43; Proc Natl Acad Sci. 107:9614-9).

We seek a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. degree in molecular and cellular biology and related fields with less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience. Must have experience in cell culture and molecular biology. Experience in using and handling mice is a plus.
