Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Aquatic Toxicology) University of Hull – Department of Biological Sciences
Applications are invited for a temporary, two year position for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on aspects of aquatic toxicology within the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Hull.
The successful applicant will be conducting research on the cause of liver tumours in a marine flatfish species. You will join an Aquatic Toxicology research group (headed by Prof. Jeanette Rotchell) that has a proven track record in the application of molecular techniques to the investigation of biological effects in marine species.
A PhD in a Biochemistry-related area, as well as previous laboratory experience in molecular biology and histology, is required. You will be able to work accurately in the laboratory using established protocols and have the ability to develop new techniques and methods as appropriate. Ability to work both independently and positively as part of a team are also required. You will be able to provide guidance as required to support staff and project students working in the laboratory.
This full-time post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of two years.
Salary range £25,001 – £29,853 pa, pro rata.
