Postdoctoral Research Assistants job in medicinal chemistry at Univ of Oxford
Department of Chemistry
Section: Medicinal Chemistry
Postdoctoral Research Assistants (Professor Steve Davies)
£26,666 – £32,796 p.a.

Applications are invited for researchers to join an established Medicinal Chemistry group at The University of Oxford. The posts, working under the overall supervision of Professor Steve Davies, are funded by Cancer Research UK and are available from 1st November 2010 for one year in the first instance with the possibility of renewal for a further two years. The Medicinal Chemistry team is working on a series of coordinated programmes in cancer drug discovery in a collaboration between Chemistry and Oxford’s Medical School, involving Professors Adrian Harris, Len Seymour, Christopher Pugh, Stefan Knapp and Christopher Schofield and Dr Angela Russell. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of new cancer therapies. The successful candidate will be expert in synthetic organic chemistry and, ideally, will have experience in medicinal chemistry, drug discovery/development and screening. Applications from candidates with direct experience of working on drug discovery projects in either an academic or industrial environment would therefore be of particular interest.
Candidates must have an Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Chemical Biology PhD or will have submitted a thesis in this subject prior to taking up the appointments.
