Job Title Postdoctoral Research Assistant
College/SASS College of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing
Grade Grade 7 (£29,249 – £35,938)
Fixed term for 36 months
Positions for two Postdoctoral Research Assistants and one Research Technician are available for up to three years in the first instance in Professor Roland Wolf’s laboratory, to study the in vivo role of oxidative stress in disease aetiology and normal physiology. This project is funded by an Advanced Investigator award to Professor Wolf from the European Research Council.
This work will exploit our state-of-the-art expertise in transgenesis to engineer novel reporter systems that allow non-invasive, real-time in vivo imaging of reactive oxygen species – and the stress pathways that they activate – in transgenic models of disease, including cancer.
Applicants for the Postdoctoral positions must have a PhD and extensive experience with molecular biology techniques, or in the area of free radical biology and oxidative stress. Possession of a current Home Office licence would be advantageous. The Research Technician will aid in the day-to-day running of the project; good organisational skills, and experience with cell culture and molecular biology are considered desirable attributes for the holder of this post.
The chosen applicants will work in an excellently equipped and funded laboratory in the recently-established Jacqui Wood Cancer Centre at the Ninewells Campus. Informal enquires regarding these posts can be made to Professor Wolf (firstname.lastname@example.org).
