Postdoctoral Position at Stockholm University, Sweden
We seek a candidate that has interest in complex systems research, in with particular in relation to social-ecological systems and sustainable development.
The following skills and experiences are required for a successful applicant:
-knowledge and experience in systems/complex systems analysis (or similar) as a tool for investigating interactions between human actions, economy and natural resources.
-capacity to critically use and develop data sets at global to national scale relevant for complex social-ecological systems, combining spatially distributed social-economic and natural indicators.
-skills in using GIS tools and modify and merge various data set.
-ability to link ecosystems impacts to natural and human induced drivers of change.
-demonstrated capacity to use statistical software, modelling software and/or programming, and relevant GIS packages for modelling of environmental change at global to national scale.
-achievement of PhD degree at recognised academic institute within 3 years from application deadline.
->track record of relevant scientific peer reviewed publications and presentations.
-excellent command of English.
Scholarship Description: The Stockholm Resilience Centre is an international centre that advances transdisciplinary research for governance of social-ecological systems. Part of this research is focussed on water resources, food production and ecosystem services.
The Stockholm Resilience Centre now offers a position as post-doc in the project of FP7 WHaTer: water harvesting technologies revisited: potentials for innovations, improvements and upscaling in Sub-Saharan Africa.
