Postdoctoral Position in Cross-Scale Modelling of Hydrologic-Permafrost Interactions at Stockholm University
The position requires a person with a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and a strong computational and mathematical background. Experience with hydrological, hydrogeological and/or biogeochemical modelling, computer programming, and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is advantageous.
Previous research experience in cold-regions or permafrost environments is helpful but not mandatory. The applicant must have obtained a Ph.D. degree no more than 3 years prior to the application deadline.
Scholarship Description: The Bert Bolin Centre for Climate Research and the Department of Physical Geography and Quaternary Geology at Stockholm University seek to employ a post-doc to perform cross-scale modelling investigations of hydrologic-permafrost interactions.
This will involve exploring how such interactions emerge and evolve under future climate scenarios and how these dynamics influence the terrestrial components of both the hydrological and carbon cycle.
How to Apply: By post and Email
Scholarship Application Deadline: January 13, 2012
