You should have experience in population genetic analysis, both in using existing software and developing software.
-A degree in a Biological or Computer Science together with an appropriate post-graduate qualification in Population Genetics or Bioinformatics is essential.
-A postdoctoral research scientist with an appropriate background in Bioinformatics would also be considered.
-Experience of programming is essential, previous work on this project has been under taken on a Mac OS X platform, and experience of using and programming in this environment would be advantageous. Experience of Perl, SQL, MySQL, Oracle, C, XML, R and UNIX are desirable

Our Research Institute aims to improve the success of bone marrow transplantation and to continue our life saving work.
You will be responsible for developing informatics tools for the Human Leucocyte Antigens (HLA) and Killer-cell Immunoglobulin-like Receptor (KIR) sequence databases IMGT/HLA and IPD-KIR. These will include tools for population genetics analysis and haplotype and genotype prediction algorithms.
These will include tools for the prediction of KIR and HLA haplotypes from high-resolution genotyping data, by virtue of the maximum likelihood estimation method using an adapted expectation maximization algorithm
