Postdoctoral fellow

Job Description

The Hillier Lab at the Australian National University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work in an exciting, interdisciplinary environment. We are a team of biologists and biophysicists studying the primary processes of natural photosynthesis and developing platforms for artificial photosynthesis. Natural Photosynthesis is a fundamental reaction that captures solar energy for biosphere. Artificial photosynthesis is a mechanistic paradigm sought for application in renewable energy capture and storage.

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join our team to work in a project focused on the mechanism of photosynthetic water oxidation and the intermediates of O-O bond formation in inorganic catalysts. This project will involve complimentary approaches and international collaboration with a number of interdisciplinary scientists.

The successful candidate appointed to ANU level A will be highly motivated, with a strong background in stable isotope mass spectrometry, biology and/or biophysics. Experience with techniques of protein purification, spectroscopy, instrumentation, programming and quantitative analysis is advantageous.
