Postdoc project to study Alzheimer’s Disease at IIT Italy
The Drug Discovery and Development (D3) department of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Genoa invites applications for a post-doc position to support its drug discovery effort in Alzheimer’s disease (AD).The D3 research unit offers a dynamic environment involving chemists, biologists and pharmacologists committed to the discovery of new drugs in the areas of Neuropathic Pain, Alzheimer’s Disease and Inflammation.

The successful candidate will work on an exciting research project to investigate potential connections between components of the circadian clock machinery and factors involved in the onset and development of AD. Specifically, the project will be focused on validating new targets in order to develop novel pharmacologically active compunds in AD treatment. The research will employ various interconnected experimental approaches including biochemical, pharmacological and molecular biolology techniques.
This research project is ideal for a highly motivated junior scientist.
The ideal applicant should hold a PhD or equivalent experience and have a penchant for research.
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments.
This position is available from January 2011 onwards, and funded for two years, with the option for extensions.
