Postdoc position in Bioinformatics/ Plant Genomics at Univ Bonn, Germany
The newly established chair of Crop Functional Genomics at the University of Bonn seeks a bioinformatician with a strong interest in plant genetics, genomics and/or statistics. The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in designing, analyzing, and interpreting next generation sequencing experiments (Illumina) and proteome assays with the model cereals maize and barley. In addition, the candidate is expected to participate in teaching of students and colleagues. The 2 + 1 year position which is available from 02/2011 offers the possibility to join a young and dynamic group with numerous national and international collaborations.
The position is open to highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a strong publication record. Applicants should have a solid background in molecular biology and biostatistics. A strong interest in plant genetics is required. Experience in analyzing plant genomes is a plus, but not essential. Especially candidates with experience in analyzing data generated using next-generation sequencing are encouraged to apply. Payment is according to the German civil servant pay scale TV-L E13.
