Postdoc Fellow in Vascular Proteomics at Beatson Institute for Cancer Research Glasgow, UK

Starting Salary from £25.5 – £38K pa (depending on experience).

The Vascular Proteomics group are interested in better understanding molecular mechanisms regulating angiogenesis in normal and tumour conditions with particular focus on endothelial cells behaviour. For this we apply state of the art mass spectrometry technology combined with SILAC-based quantitative approach (J Cell Biol. 2010 Aug 23;190(4):491-500). A project is available to investigate proteome and post-translational modification regulation in endothelial cells during vessel formation using in vitro and in vivo systems. The aim is to define a more comprehensive picture of mechanisms regulating angiogenesis and identify and characterise new proteins involved in this process.

A relevant PhD is essential and you should be enthusiastic and highly motivated with experience in the field of angiogenesis or related topics.

The post will be for 3 years initially with the possibility of an extension for up to 2 further years.
