Molecular mechanisms of action of Celsr1 and Celsr3 in neural stem cells and axon guidance.
The laboratory studies the role of planar cell polarity proteins Celsr1-3 in brain development (e.g. Zhou et al., Science 320: 946-949, 2008; Tissir et al., Nat. Neurosci. 13: 700-707, 2010). The present project aims to understand the molecular mechanisms by which Celsr1, Celsr2 and 3 interact with Frizzled3 and downstream signalling pathways in the control of neural stem cells, neuronal migration and axon guidance. Experience in cell biochemistry and molecular biology is required. See lab website: http://www.dene.ucl.ac.be/
Salaries are competitive and follow Belgian legal requirements. The laboratory is located in a pleasant area in the suburb of Brussels, with convenient communication facilities.
