Post-Doctoral Researchers Fellows in DNA Repair

The newly founded Institute of Molecular Biology gGmbH (IMB) is a Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences, funded by the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation, and located in Mainz, Germany.
Applications are invited for two ERC-funded Post-Doctoral Research Fellows to work in the laboratory of IMB’s Scientific and Executive Director Prof. Christof Niehrs (www.imb-mainz.de/en/research-at-imb/niehrs/research/). The selected applicants will study DNA repair mechanisms (nucleotide excision repair and others) involved in active DNA demethylation using biochemical and molecular biology approaches. The Niehrs laboratory is interested in epigenetic control of gene transcription, cell differentiation, reprogramming and embryonic development. You will

    • Have a PhD and background in DNA repair, epigenetics, molecular biology or a related discipline
    • Have at least one first author paper in an international peer reviewed journal
    • Have good written and spoken English
    • Work in close collaboration with Prof. Niehrs and the post-docs within the group
    • Be willing to collaborate with internal and external partners
    • Have access to all IMB core facilities
