We are looking for a Post Doc Beta-Cell Biology (m/f)
In the department of Diabetes as Ph.D. level scientist who is driven to use different approaches to develop assays for quantitative analysis of autoreactive T cells and autoantibodies in course of autoimmune diabetes in patients and animal models. In parallel, you will develop bioimaging assays for visualization and measurement of beta-cell mass suitable for monitoring islets destruction during autoimmune attack. You will be responsible for cloning, expression, purification and fluorescent labeling of relevant proteins and testing their specificity using FACS and other imaging methods. You will work with different in vitro and in vivo diabetes models and use primary pancreatic islets or relevant endocrine and other cell lines. Key technical responsibilities require combination of molecular and cell biological methods, excellent communication with other team members, ability to write and present work at cross-functional internal meetings and conferences. The individual will work in close partnership with other scientists in beta-cell biology and pharmacology teams.
PhD in cell or molecular biology. You have experience in standard molecular/biochemical and cell biological methods. Knowledge and Experience in immunology, FACS analysis, biology of endocrine cells, viral gene delivery, confocal or other bioimaging methods is plus.
