Infection and Immunity has a long and successful history at St. George's University. Today the Institute of Infection and Immunity is a vibrant research environment with more than 40 principle investigators, covering many different aspects of infection and immunity by many world leading researchers. This job is embedded in this highly recognized institute within the group of Kai Hilpert and is an exciting opportunity for an post-doctoral researcher with experience in peptide chemistry. Different aspects of antimicrobial peptides in connection with infectious diseases will be investigated. The post-doctoral researcher will lead solid phase peptide synthesis on resin at different scales, as well as performing peptide synthesis on cellulose. In addition, HPLC purification and peptide stability tests will be established on a new HPLC-MS unit. Expertise in solid phase peptide synthesis and HPLC-MS is essential for this job. Familiarity with peptide synthesis on cellulose would be an advantage. In addition, being a good team player, work careful and efficient, and show ability to organise own workload to deadlines and work on own initiative are crucial for this position.
