Post doc in Plant Science : Copenhagen, Denmark
Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, at the University of Copenhagen is offering a position as postdoctoral researcher in “Elicitation of plant pigments” from August 1st, 2014 or soonest possible. The employment period will be 2 years.
The application deadline is May 5th, 2014. The project “Elicitation of plant pigments” comprises research on mechanisms and regulation of physical, biological and chemical elicitors in natural color production. The position is a part of a bigger consortium with several private companies. The overall objective of this part is to increase understanding of plant pigment production in response to exogenous and endogenous factors and studying the underlying genetic regulation of pigmentation in carrots. The effect of different physical, biological and chemical elicitors will be explored under field conditions, in controlled greenhouse conditions and in postharvest storage facilities. Key elements of pigmentation will be identified in selected carrot cultivars with different pigmentation and their regulation will be studied on a molecular level. The strategic goal is to apply the gained knowledge of targeted elicitation of plant pigments to improve natural color production efficiency use in food industry.
Only electronic applications are accepted.
