Opening For MRC Postdoctoral Scientist MRC Clinical Sciences Centre

Evolution of Gene Regulation Group
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented post-doctoral scientist to join the newly established Evolution of Gene Regulation Group, headed by Dr Vahan Indjeian, within the Epigenetics Section of the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre (CSC). The CSC is a leading MRC research institute at Imperial College London, based on the Hammersmith Hospital campus. It provides investigators from clinical and basic science backgrounds with first-class facilities and the opportunity to pursue innovative, multi-disciplinary research. For more information, please visit
This is a 3 year training post to support a post-doctoral scientist in early or changed career training, and help establish them as a successful research scientist in their chosen field.
Vertebrates differ in a wide range of traits, including dramatic differences in their skeletons. The Evolution of Gene Regulation Group uses a combination of comparative genomics and three-spine stickleback and mouse models to uncover the genetic basis of vertebrate traits. Our goals are to identify which genes regulate vertebrate traits, what are the changes in those genes, and have the same genes been used when similar traits evolve in different species.
