Salary: £24,273 to £30,747 per annum

Peninsula Medical School, within the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry, is widely regarded as the strongest of the new medical schools in the UK. From the outset, the School has sought to build an international research reputation, to complement its innovative educational programme.
 
This post will support a programme including studies of gene expression changes with obesity, exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals, and changes in the musculoskeletal system. There will be opportunities to develop your own research interests.
 
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated scientist to an Associate Research Fellow position. You will have a degree in epidemiology, statistics, bioinformatics, genetics or equivalent and have a knowledge and experience of undertaking epidemiology, statistical or bioinformatics analyses of human study genetic and other data.  A PhD in a relevant subject or PhD level research outputs would be advantageous as would a Master’s degree. You will be interested in gene expression and similar molecular epidemiology approaches to understanding the diseases of mid and later life.
 
This is a University of Exeter appointment and will be based in Exeter. Please note that we are unable to apply for a Certificate of Sponsorship for this post.
 
Salary for this Associate Research Fellow appointment will be on the scale £24,273 to £30,747 and will be fixed term until 31st October 2014. Point on scale will be determined by knowledge, skills and experience, and will be clarified following interview.
