Product Sales Specialist Job in CA - GE Healthcare

 The Product Sales Specialist within the Bioprocess Products business unit will need to develop and promote consistent business plans and company objectives. This role will be field based with approximately 20% overnight travel. The territory will focus on key pharmaceutical and biotechnology accounts.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Promote sales of GE Healthcare Bioprocess product lines, attaining and/or exceeding territory budgetary goals through sales success across key product areas. Develop ground-up strategies and sales in single-use Bioprocess applications.
- Promote customer satisfaction by providing quotes, service information, answering inquiries, investigating complaints, managing orders and taking immediate appropriate action, and providing after-sales support utilizing all available resources.
- Communicate best practices, sales success and assist in training and coaching Life Sciences team members as requested by the Business Unit Regional Sales Director.
- Maintain GEHC databases for; contacts, accurate quarterly forecasting and opportunity management.
- Conduct (and create) presentations to potential customers and implement local user group meetings within territory.
- Develop specific strategic account strategies, account portfolios, and territory business plans by routinely working with high level decision makers in customer organizations and their colleagues selling and supporting other product portfolios. Actively adjust plan to meet dynamic situations.
- Attention to administrative responsibilities: Key Account reports, expenses, forecasting, yearly reviews, opportunity details and other operational requirements.
- Present and report competitive product information and competitor activity to Marketing for communication within the Region.
- Spend an average of 70% of available time in the field, and of the field time ~20% overnight travel.
- Willing and able to effectively work within a team selling environment and ongoing proper utilization of internal resources.
- Ability to work out of a home office covering the California territory: Territory covers Accounts in Southern California to develop sales in our Bioprocess product focus. The Candidate must reside in the Southern California / Bay area.
- BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Engineering and/or BS/BA with relevant experience in Life Sciences in the areas
- Minimum of 5 years successful commercial sales/field experience that met or exceeded plan: Including but not limited to sales, marketing, and business development.
- Must have extensive sales knowledge in Bioprocess single use solutions, filtration and downstream applications, as well as extensive knowledge and contacts in the Western USA customer base.
Computer Literacy: Microsoft and Outlook
- Some overnight travel is required
- To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned/leased, privately owned/leased or rental vehicle for company business.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics:
- Practical single-use (disposables) /filtration/ chromatography experience.
- 7 or more years Sales /field Experience with biotechnology/pharmaceutical industries in Life Sciences Bioprocess.
- Knowledge of the territory and its customer base.
- Leadership qualities in sales and presentations skills
- Sales Training Experience: Commercial Selling Skills Training.
- Proven effective sales record in previous positions.
- Direct employment in biotech or pharmaceutical research, production or process development environment.
