Scope of Position:
The role supports the Sourcing & Procurement activities for the Bedford, Woburn, & Manassas Corning Life Sciences (CLS) sites across diverse set of categories from Biologics to lab Supply with a special focus on FBS (Fetal Bovine Serum) for our Manassas site. The Sourcing Manager is responsible for ensuring Global Supply Management (GSM) provides three key outputs for our stakeholder’s sites: Security of Supply, Implementation of Corporate Programs & Leading Plant Cost Reduction activities. This role may reside in either the Tewksbury or Manassas locations.

Key Sourcing Responsibilities:
• Supports & drives GSM strategy development for the responsible sites
• Leads / Supports CLS supplier negotiations, contract development & administration
• Owns / Assists with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process
• Including conducting supplier audits & maintaining supplier reliability metrics
• Assists with commodity reviews & supply intelligence
• Participates in cross-functional teams focused on process improvements, cost reduction & supply chain issue resolution
• Other activities as requested

Key Procurement Responsibilities:
• Deploys GSM Sourcing Strategies by ensuring plant buyers are purchasing products or services aligned with those objectives & strategies
• Assures Contribution Metrics are updated & linked with site / business cost reduction portfolio
• Acts as GSM representative within the plants, including materials & quality areas
• Recommends policy / procedural changes to ensure conformance with established laws, policies & ethical principles
• Ensures compliance with internal & external auditing requirements related to GSM or any other certification (if applicable)
• Champions and advocates for the Global Buying Policy. Ensures compliance.

Required: Bachelor's Degree (Technical, Business or Supply Chain)
Desired: Master's in Business or Supply Chain Management

Required Years and Area of Experience: 5 years

Required Skills:
• Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing - operations, planning, quality, engineering, supply chain
• Experience with procurement and supply chain processes and systems
• Experience working in a matrix environment or on a cross functional team
• Experience with global manufacturing and business through work, project experience or expatriate assignment
• Experience across multiple businesses, division and / or technologies
• Experience in frontline or mainstream business or experience
• Willingness to travel and be mobile globally
• Has worked globally (Experience working in a global organization)

Desired Skills:
• Minimum 5 years' Life Science industry & experience
• Experience with the procurement of FBS (Fetal Bovine Serum)
• Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), APICS or certification related to Supply Chain
• LEAN or Six Sigma Certification or equivalent experience
