Tenure Track or tenured position in BIOCHEMISTRY

The post is located at the Department of Biotechnology and Chemical Technology. The core competence of the department combines industrial biotechnology with chemical technology and engineering. Research and teaching of the department is committed to sustainable and efficient refining and use of natural resources. The new professorship strengthens the competence of Aalto University in the emerging field of the bio-economy.

The applicants are expected to have an outstanding record of research and teaching in biochemistry and applications thereof comprising of e.g. properties and functions of biological molecules as well as functions of biological systems and networks. Experiences in biotechnology education and technology development are considered to be a merit.

Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure track system are expected to exercise and guide scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the advances of their field, to participate in service to the Aalto University community, and to take part in societal interaction and international collaboration in their field.

Applicants are expected to have doctoral degree in a relevant field.

The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research, teaching and academic leadership and activity in scientific community.
