To strengthen our ICT team within the Bioinformatics and Modeling department, Keygene is seeking to employ a highly motivated and talented:
Linux Systems Administrator

Data, information and knowledge are among KeyGene’s foremost products. Our state-of-the-art ICT infrastructure and in particular our High Performance Computing environment are the underpinning of our successful R&D and business. As Linux Systems Administrator you will participate, firstly, in the system administration of a Linux HPC cluster and other Linux-based compute and storage environments. This will cover the largest part of your activities. Further, as a member of the ICT-team you will help to ensure the general support, maintenance and improvements of our computerized information and communication systems within KeyGene, in particular system and network architecture and information management. The ICT-team safeguards the continuity of these systems which are used by all KeyGene employees. With 4 colleagues you will play a pro-active role in this ICT-team to achieve an optimal performing ICT infrastructure. You will also be part of the helpdesk which advises and helps (internal) customers with ICT related questions.
Qualifications and experience requirements 
• BSc/MSc degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a similar technical related education and experience
• At least two years of experience as a Linux system administrator
• Experience with maintaining an HPC cluster environment, including job scheduling (SGE) and shared file systems (NFS/CIFS)
• Knowledge and understanding of network and system architecture
• Experience with application and database management, and enterprise-class environments in a commercial R&D setting are considered as strong assets
Skills and personal qualities
• Open, enthusiastic teamworker and excellent communication abilities
• Disciplined, self-motivated and pro-active in the maintenance of an ICT-environment in a commercial R&D setting, where support and prevention of production down time are essential
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform under pressure and outside office hours 
• Able and willing to follow relevant courses where necessary
