 We are looking for a highly motivated person for the following tasks:
to lead the WASS education programme: to organise PhD courses (e.g. the Introduction Course for new PhD candidates), to initiate new learning activities, and to actively develop the WASS education programme by initiating disciplinary and interdisciplinary courses.
to advise PhD candidates on their Training and Supervision Plan (TSP) and be contact person for PhDs and supervisors with regard to TSP and monitoring
to support the WASS Education Committee, the WASS PhD Council, and the General Courses Committee of Wageningen Graduate Schools
to communicate about WASS activities as webmaster of the WASS website and contributor to the monthly newsletter
to contribute to and support the work of the WASS Scientific Director and Executive Secretary
As WASS education coordinator, you have:
A PhD degree in social sciences
Broad understanding of WASS PhD research and education, interest in education networks and understanding of the Wageningen University system of education
Flexibility and team spirit
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with PhD candidates and faculty staff of all ages and cultures
Ability to supervise and energize PhD candidates in choosing their individual education trajectory
Creativity in organising activities for PhD candidates from various disciplines
Ability to participate in and/or lead various committees
Ability to lecture to groups of people
Good active and passive knowledge of Dutch and English
Good skills in and experience with 'mastering' websites
Good working skills of (Access) databases
Terms of employment
WASS provides a dynamic work environment within a professional, enthusiastic and motivated team. The education coordinator should be willing to work as part of the WASS team for the duration of at least two or three years with the option of a fixed contract. We offer a temporary contract of 0.6 fte and a salary between €2427 and €3831 (full time) depending on qualifications and experience.
