Position Summary: The successful candidate will lead and direct the Product Management and Market Development Teams that will allow the Immunoassay Systems (IMS) business to achieve its annual operating plan objectives. This individual will attain these goals by defining the new product development, pricing, life-cycle management, and go-to-market strategies for the IMS portfolio and facilitating the Product Management and Market Development teams to implement these strategies. The teams reporting to the Director of Product Management and Market Development will be responsible for the development and execution of detailed tactical plans for antibodies and immunoassay portfolios. The successful candidate:
Understands antibody and immunoassay customer segments and their product needs; has strong technical understanding to enable Product Management to define product and customer requirements in the product development process.
Understands competitor and market insights to enable business decisions.
Develops and executes go-to-market strategies and tactics (i.e., marketing campaigns, programs and projects) to drive initial adoption, generate demand and on-going usage, and create loyal customers.
Identifies voice of customer and incorporate into marketing plans.
Drives marketing activities for key product launches for IMS products.
Works closely with regional marketing development managers and teams to build and execute marketing programs within their regions in order to drive results and achieve goals.
Partners with e-business & digital marketing teams to drive revenue growth.
Manages budget and spend.
Work locations available: Frederick, MD, Rockford, IL or Carlsbad, CA
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in a marketing role with demonstrated core competences: 4Ps, marketing mix, marketing communication, channels, segmentation, value proposition, market research analysis, and marketing program development and execution.
BS degree in life sciences.
Experience with Antibodies and immunoassay technologies.
Strong business acumen, market knowledge and customer focus are essential.
Ability to distill customer requirements, understand competitive strengths and weaknesses, develop compelling product offerings and value propositions and addresses competitive threats.
Experience with financial modeling or data analysis skills.
Experience successfully managing diverse and remote teams.
Ability to build and analyze models to forecast and track results.
Identify key performance indicators to measure success and report out metrics on a routine basis.
Experience working in a global matrix environment and leading teams without direct authority.
Effectiveness in this role requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of colleagues, including executive leaders and customers.
Requires a functional knowledge of corporate operations and product lines.
Must demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers as well the ability to handle confidential and proprietary information.
Initiative and organization skills are extremely valuable to ensure a smooth office operation.
Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player.
Experience and understanding in Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media Optimization (SMO).
Understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition.
Average expected travel is 20% with varying global travel up to 50%.
Desired Qualifications:
MS or PhD in life sciences and MBA a strong plus.
