To explore the transcriptional regulation of both protein production and growth we have generated a library of transcription factor knockout mutants in T. reesei. The purpose of the role is to screen the library of mutants to identify strains that grow more rapidly under various selection conditions and to uncover the mechanistic basis of these phenotypic changes using RNAseq and mutagenesis studies. This will require the candidate to have experience of cultivating and genetic manipulation of micro-organisms in addition to extensive molecular biology expertise.
This post is available with immediate effect for a period of twelve months ending no later than 30 June 2016.
