Preparing Solutions

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help on the following dilution question. I have been out of chemistry for a while. From a 1ppm standard with 10ml volumetric flasks prepare 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5ppm solutions. I know its probably simple but I have forgotten. Thanks.

Hi Escar

Hi Escar

Assuming that you need 1ml of each solution.

your stock is 1ppm

Conc.                                vol of stock                               vol of distilled water

0ppm                                      0                                                        1ml
0.1oom                                  100mkl                                            900mkl
0.2ppm                                   200mkl                                           800mkl
0.5ppm                                   500mkl                                            500mkl

and so on and so forth.  mkl implies microlitres
