Department Name: Neurobiology

Position: Postdoctoral Fellow

Description: We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow with experience in electrophysiology to study neural flow networks in awake behaving song-learning birds. This is a collaborative project with Erich D. Jarvis and Alexander Hartemink at Duke University using both experimental and computational approaches. The project addresses a fundamental question on determining how different parts of a brain system communicate with each other during production and learning of behavior. It involves microelectrode arrays on awake behaving animals. See our web sites http://www.jarvislab.net/ and http://www.cs.duke.edu/~amink/ and publications therein for more information.  Position is available for 3 years.

Requirements: The candidate should have proven ability of past performance through peer-reviewed publications, be hard working, conceptually creative, and be willing to take risk.

Additional Information: Email CV and references to Erich D. Jarvis at jarvis@neuro.duke.edu.

Deadline to Apply: 6/01/09
