well, my target protein of interest is very small (abt 15kda) and  there're background in regions from 35-200kda, where i probe with my usual housekeeping proteins eg. actin, actinin, tubulin etc. But the region from 20-30kda is clean, without any banding. So for accuracy sake, i was hoping to find a housekeeping protein of around 20-30kda, so that i can reprobe my blots without stripping it.

hope this clarifies :)

thanks for all your help.... i'm currently looking into using ribosomal protein L9 (22 kDa) as a housekeeping protein. Would anyone know if this is a commonly used housekeeping protein? any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

This paper may be of interest to you as it describes human housekeeping genes (including L9)

Eisenberg, E. and Levanon, E.Y., (2003) Human housekeeping genes are compact.  Trends in Genetics 19(7); 362-365

Hope that helps,
