What is your preferred Operating System platform for scientific applications, Linux, Mac, Windows..??

Linux/UNIX by a wide margin. Abundant, free tools; everyone else uses it - use of libraries and other software packages; popular with computer people (Linux, ie). The only reason I would work in Windows would be to develop software targeted for more general users, such as students.

This is true, I develop Windows based applications b/c of its usability.
