Is a good overview of the situation in the UK, which follows the EU regulations.

There are exemptions to the labelling requirements possible, including "accidental" inclusing of GM material up to a certain level, and Meat / eggs produced by using GM feed.

It is good to know of the regulations in Europe. But how to address problems like planting of illegally obtained Bt Cotton seeds in certain parts of India by farmers? Such things are likely to happen in developing countries where many farmers do not have enough resource to buy authentic seeds, and are not aware of the potentially dangerous implications.

I doubt there will be any answer to this apart from enforcing the existing laws that are in place to prevent such *illegal* planting! That is, this question is not a separate issue from the issue of the enforcement of current laws.

I mean no disrespect to the poster, but isn't this question rather like asking how we can prevent the illegal killing of people (ie.,. murder) better? Again, the issue is not whether we should have new laws, but how we can enforse our current ones more effectively.
