Identifying Gene Expression in Mammalian Development & Disease May 20th 2005, Birkbeck College, London

As we move into an era beyond simple genome sequencing, it is becoming ever apparent that to understand biological function we must first understand where and when every gene in the body is expressed. This meeting will focus on the methods required to obtain, image and use such data, together with its application to mammalian developmental biology and disease. Dr David Tannahill, The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute

Talk titles include:

Automated in Situ Detection

MicroRNAs as Potential Diagnostic and Prognostic Markers of Disease

Towards an electronic atlas of gene expression in early human development

EMAGE A spatial database of gene expression patterns in the developing mouse embryo

Figuring out the cruclal genes for tissue repair and inflammation

Toward a comprehensive view of Wnt pathway component gene expression patterns during limb and facial development

Landscaping the Mouse Embryo

OPT: a novel wholemount imaging technology for visualising gene expression

Towards an electronic atlas of gene expression in early human development

The Deadline for early registration is April 20thThe early registration fee is 80 (70 for IBMS members; 40 for students)After the early registration deadline the fee is 160 (80 for students)

This meeting has been granted CPD creditation
