Tenure-Track Faculty Positions - Bioinformatics And Genomics
University of North Carolina, Charlotte

Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

UNC CHARLOTTE
THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA
AT CHARLOTTE
TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS
BIOINFORMATICS AND GENOMICS

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions (all levels) in the newly forming Department of Bioinformatics and Genomics. We are engaged in a multi-year expansion program encompassing two major sites. In addition to a $35M state-of-the art building nearing completion on the University's main campus, the Department plays the leadership role in bioinformatics for the nearby North Carolina Research Campus, a $1.5B public-private biotechnology center.

We encourage applicants from any area of bioinformatics or computational biology whether purely computational or theoretical/experimental. We offer a competitive start up package with full support for wet-lab research programs. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a program of original research supported by external funding, develop and teach graduate courses, and mentor doctoral students. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and have relevant post-doctoral research experience.

Please direct inquiries to Dr. Lawrence Mays ( lemays@uncc.edu ) (704-687-8555). Formal applications must be submitted online (https://jobs.uncc.edu, position #1913) and should include vitae, a list of at least three references, a statement of research interests, and a separate statement describing teaching interests and philosophy. For full consideration, completed applications should be received by November 1, 2008, although the positions will remain open until filled. For additional information, please visit www.bioinformatics.uncc.edu.
