Veterinarian Position

Assistant Professor of Animal Science with a specialty in Veterinary Medicine in the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, The University of Tennessee at Martin. Full-time, tenure-track appointment effective January 1, 2009. Responsibilities: Effort allocation included 50 percent teaching in the department, 25 percent in the Center of Excellence to include staff veterinarian, and 25 percent allocation to the West Tennessee Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory as attending veterinarian. Major teaching responsibilities will emphasize teaching undergraduate classes in animal science with a focus on veterinary medicine. Serve as primary care veterinarian for university animals through Center of Excellence as well as participate in collaborative research or public service. Qualifications: Earned Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent; licensed or eligibility for licensure in Tennessee. Broad understanding of veterinary medicine to include large animals, companion/small animals and wildlife. Large animal experience is essential.
