The University of Nevada, Reno is pleased to announce an opening for an Animal Care Facility Manager. This position reports directly to the Director of Laboratory Animal Medicine and will provide daily management of the University's laboratory animal care program which supports a broad range of teaching and research activities in multiple units within the University. The Manager provides animal husbandry, selection, handling expertise and guidance to faculty using laboratory animals; and provides oversight of animal and animal care equipment procurement. The manager directs instruction in animal maintenance and handling and, as resources permit, directs technical support for projects using laboratory animals.

Required Qualifications:
A combination of education and experience is required for this position. Please see the specific details below:

A Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and at least four (4) years experience in animal facility management, or assisting in managing a multi-species animal care facility/program.

A valid Nevada Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of appointment is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Laboratory Animal Technologist certified by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.
