Post-Doctoral Scientist- FDE
In the synthesis of pharmaceutical candidate compounds, this area develops chemical processes, which minimize the cost of production while minimizing environmental impact. This is done by conducting organic synthesis experiments and developing synthetic routes, preparing various quantities of materials (milligrams to kilograms) for use by the program/project team customers, and interfacing with analytical chemistry, engineering, manufacturing, and formulation for the successful scale-up of the chemical processThis position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of up to 4 years.
KEY OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES:
Leading Synthetic Method Development Projects Develop project information work plans, as well as material delivery plans.
Update the plans based on the progress of the project
Provide progress status report to the divisional team Synthesize impurities for process development, toxicology and analytical studies.
Develop efficient, practical, and scalable syntheses for clinical studies Participate in technology transfer activities for pilot plant and production campaigns Present the issues, results and project progress to the project team and other business units.
Bench Work Refining or Improving Procedure to Improve Yields, Purity, Safety, and Reduce Cost
Design synthesis process Run experiments to test hypothesis Analyze results and data; suggest future experimental plan
Network with team members for analysis Improving Lilly’s Research and Development, Effectiveness, Encourage and integrate best practice and standards in the design and development of solutions Develop and introduce new techniques, methods, and processes to improve business effectiveness
Encourage sharing different perspectives during technical discussions and generate new ideas or methods to resolve problems
Become knowledge expert in selected areas Identify and foster external collaborations that increase technical capabilities of department
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Ph D. in Organic Chemistry
Knowledge and operations skills of GC, HPLC, NMR, GCMS.
Up-to-date knowledge of new technologies relating to chemical processes
