POSITION in BIOPHYSICS
Integrated Molecular Life Sciences and
Biophysics Program

Department of Physics and Astronomy
University of Denver

The Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Physics and Astronomy, are forming the Integrated Molecular Life Sciences and Biophysics (IMLSB) Program that will include a multidepartmental graduate program with emphases in neuroscience, biochemistry, and biophysics. Currently, four new tenure-track positions for this initiative have already been filled.

As part of this initiative, the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Denver invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship beginning September 1, 2009, in computational or experimental biophysics. Areas of interest include cell signaling, transport and interaction phenomena associated with proteins and membranes, protein conformational dynamics and folding, neural physics and biological complexity/network system dynamics.

The successful candidate will have a B.S. in physics and Ph.D. in biophysics or related discipline, will develop an extramurally funded research program, will supervise undergraduate and graduate research, and will teach undergraduate and graduate courses. The Department offers degrees through the Ph.D. Individuals with postdoctoral experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
