Washington College, an ACS-approved school, invites applications for a tenure-track, entry-level position at the rank of Assistant Professor in organic chemistry to begin August 2009. A Ph.D. in organic chemistry is required. Applicants with training in synthetic organic or physical organic chemistry will be favored. Post-doctoral and teaching experience is desirable.

Teaching responsibilities will include lecture and laboratory for a year-long, majors-level organic chemistry course, a semester-long course in biological chemistry, and a semester-long, senior-level course in advanced organic chemistry or special topics course in the area of the applicant's expertise. An active research program involving undergraduates and leading to publications is expected.
