We seek a motivated Scientist, at our St. Louis, MO location who will join our BIOCHEMIST to join our multifaceted, cross-functional, herbicide tolerance team. The individual should be a self-starter adept at integrating information from a wide variety of sources to help form consensus on experimental design and directions. He/She should have strong general biochemical skills with diverse scientific background and interests. This position will require the ability to utilize multiple methods to forward the biochemical and molecular understanding of our various approaches.

Requirements .
The successful candidate will possess:
- PhD in biochemistry or molecular biochemistry and publications reflecting these target areas
- Demonstrated experience in protein characterization from multiple sources and knowledge of enzymology including basic kinetic methods
- Experience developing and trouble shooting assays for proteins and small molecules
- Hands on experience using separation and chromatographic methods including but not limited to HPLC and FPLC
- Working knowledge of multiple spectroscopic methods including but not limited to UV-vis, fluorescence, and MS
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential
- Postdoctoral experience is preferred
- Knowledge of plant systems, plant physiology experience, and understanding of biochemical mechanism are desired
- Experience with western blots and characterizing protein from plant materials is also desired
- Molecular biology skills, and experience with protein expression and purification is a plus
