The Organizers are pleased to announce the 8th edition of the Carbohydrate Bioengineering Meeting (CBM8) that will be held at the Hotel Continental Terme from 10 to 13 May 2009 in Ischia (Naples, Italy) .
In the tradition of CBM series started in Elsinor (Denmark) in 1995 and fostered in the meetings in La Rochelle, New Castle, Stockholm, Groningen, Barcelona and Braunschweig (2007), CBM8 in Ischia aims to show the updated state-of-the-art of research on basic and applied aspects of carbohydrate bioengineering and to stimulate high quality research, inspiring those already working in the field and young scientists approaching glycoscience.

The Conference will include sessions on screening and protein engineering of carbohydrate active enzymes (CAZymes), chemical and enzymatic synthesis of carbohydrates, glycogenomic and glycomic, structural and functional analysis of sugars, glycoconjugates and CAZymes, applications of carbohydrates, glycoconjugates and carbohydrate active enzymes in health, nutrition, and biocatalysis.
