Hi,everyone,

It comes to my attention that more people are giving up MTT assay, and moving to XTT assays. I just know that they are the very similiar cell viability and proliferation assays except that XTT fozam can dissolve with water.

You are very appreciate if you can tell me more. Both the MTT and XTT protocols I have been using are over here. http://www.e-biotek.com/ebiotek_189.htm

Both MTT and XTT work on exactly the same principle, and measure the same parameter: the redox potential in a live, actively metabolizing cell.
The main difference between the two is in terms of time + convenience (XTT wins hands down) and cost (MTT is cheaper than XTT).
