You could do this as a general approach to finding promoter regions for any gene.
a) Look up the gene in NCBI gene so you can get a good unique identifier for it. See
the record for Cyclin D1. This will get you the official symbol 'CCND1' which is useful to have.
b) Take that symbol and search for it in, for example, the human genome browser at UC Santa CRUZ. For example, see
the results for CCND1 in humanOn the genome browser, you can navigate around the sequence and view its alignments to many other genomes.
