Hi my name is sharma I am working as an associate scientist in a drug discovery company. My work profile over here is to profile the compounds for their toxicities in general which woulld be precisely in vivo i. e in lab animals.

I was wondering tosee the guidelines for the preclinical CNS safety core battery tests and was disappointed to see no special tests to screen the psychostimulant compounds through functional observational battery tests i. e. Irwin test besides S7 A and B.

As it dose not say anything about the supplimental test required by the regulatory authorities i. e. FDA for the antidepressants like compounds besides the routine battery of tests included in the FOB. Can anybody tell me for the different FOB screening of the antidepressant like compounds or the FOB i. e. modified Irwin test is sufficient enough.
